It really depends on the extent of the damage, and what type of materials your roof is made from. When I was suffering the consequences of a water damaged roof, I contacted a joiner in Edinburgh for help.

I did this for two reasons:

1. Due to recommendationsMy neighbor had had a similar problem with her roof a few months earlier and recommended a reliable joiner she had used for the repairs

2. Due to the materials in my roofMy roof beams were made from wood, as is the case in a lot of UK properties. Therefore, the best type of contractor to contact was a joiner, as they could adequately assess the damage that had been done to the structural elements of my roof.

If your roof is made from wood, then I would suggest contacting a local joiner to see if they can help. If they can't they will likely give you details of someone who can.
